In 2015, Assist International was honored to come alongside Sister Rosemary and her team to build ten homes and a school to provide vulnerable orphan children and women with a safe and loving family, access to healthcare and education, and the opportunity to pursue their dreams!

FAMILY-CENTERED HOMES
OPPORTUNITY
Today, 493 million women are unable to read. Unfortunately, the opportunity for an education in resource-constrained settings is often limited or does not exist. Assist International was honored to build the Sewing Hope School so that girls in Northern Uganda have the opportunity to gain an education.
Because of supporters like you, girls like Theresa (pictured left) are learning how to read and write, tutor their friends, and carry hope for a bright future!
SUSTAINABILITY
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sewing Hope needed an immediate emergency food supply and a sustainable long-term solution. We launched the farming initiative to combat the severe effects of hunger and malnutrition. Together, we located acreage in a nearby district where a locust plague devastated their region and was expected to migrate to surrounding areas.
Today, Sewing Hope continues to plant and harvest an abundance of corn, rice, and more to feed the children living at Sewing Hope as well as store food for the future!
